First crickets of this year

Seriously.  Until a couple of hours before midnight, I had not heard a single cricket all year.  Further, this is the first year that I can remember NOT hearing the frogs announcing that spring had arrived.  Very weird.  I am usually outside until the late hours of every day; this has been the year of the silent nights.
