Why does Government stick with worthless, prohibitively expensive, programs?


Politicians seem willing to throw money at problems because it makes voters think that they care, and many partisan voters will never accept proof that these noble ideas are failures. 

I have no problem with either major party trying something new, however, if it turns out that the program sucks, end it with malice.

    As a public school teacher I must say that the programs have hidden agendas. Public education provides seemingly free baby sitting for parents. It provides all kinds of special funds that can be used for personal agendas. It may not be successful in its stated goal, but it does a whale of a job in other areas.

    I would vote to do away with compulsory education. Universally available, yes. Coerced attendance, no.
