Since late 1989 Chicagoans have waited to crown someone with the title of "Chili-Dog Thug"

Back in late 1989 and early 1990 the Chicago Transit Authority funded radio and print ads warning "hoodlums, marauders, and chili-dog thugs" against committing crimes on Chicago mass transit ... well, mostly the campaign was political propaganda aiming to quell citizen unrest.  Anyhoo, nobody on this earth could be found that had ever before heard the street term "chili-dog thug."  Below is a clip from the Chicago Tribune archives:

FINALLY, here in the fledgling weeks of 2017,  A CHILI-DOG THUG was arrested in FLORIDA!

Hat tip to Kenny Lane!

Matt Del Fatti has some PH-3 Pocket Holsters available and ready-to-ship for J-Frames and Seecamps

UPDATE 1/22/2017:  SORRY!  ALL SOLD OUT!

The availability is a rare event; Del Fatti in-stock holsters usually sell out pretty fast.

Photos above:  My S&W Centennial Airweight in a PH3

Photo below:  My natural, rough side out, Seecamp PH3.
This tough old holster is a loyal friend; it has withstood the challenges of blood, mud, sweat, and bone soaking thundershowers for many years. Likely it will still be around long after I am not.  I have other Seecamp pocket holsters (Del Fatti et al), but this is the one I will continue to ride with.

Happy POTUS Trump Day! You still here? You said you were leaving the USA.

That's the same damn thing you said with both of the POTUS Bush dudes ...
same thing you said with POTUS Reagan ...

CLOSED FOREVER! Libertyville, Illinois Secretary of State Driver Services Facility is GONE GONE GONE!

SURPRISE!  I knew they were moving but I had no idea that it was this soon; I found this sign in the window of the now erstwhile Libertyville SOS office on Peterson Road last week;  I'm glad I did not wait until the last minute (end of January) to go get my license plate sticker for the GMC van.  Anyhow, a couple of days later I drove on over to Lake Zurich and took care of business there (they were not busy at the new location).

The clerk I dealt with at the new Lake Zurich facility asked why I didn't just go over to the Waukegan facility.  I explained that, over many years, I suffered through too much drama at the Waukegan facility to ever go back; not enough parking, long lines, bad manners, and some mighty quick tempers.  I wasn't there during THIS CRAZY EPISODE but I did hear it over the police scanner and it cemented my decision to NEVER return to the Waukegan facility.

Michael de Bethencourt's SnubTraining.com is also on Facebook

I honestly did not know that he was on Facebook until today.   Even though I don't have a Facebook account, there is plenty on Michael's page that I was able to peruse.

If you favor carrying a snub (or are considering purchasing a snub), it is my studied opinion that shadowing this feller can lead to some serious knowing ... which is the reason I again hunted him down ... at my best I was an average snub gunner and lately I am shooting more badder instead of more better ...   snubs can be very humbling.

From the divinely gifted heart, soul, and hands of Matt Del Fatti

Treasures from a storied master artisan

Above is a brace of bespoke holsters for my Magnum J-Frame revolvers; one is an outside the waistband (OWB) holster (Del Fatti LPS) and the other is an inside the waistband (IWB) holster (Del Fatti ISP-LP).  Each holster is intended primarily for use at the same location, just behind my right hip.  Most of the time the OWB will be my “practice at the range holster" because some ranges are militantly against IWB holster practice.  The IWB will be an all day long carry holster.  With proper attire, the OWB can also serve as an exquisite concealed-carry.

Also shown is a pair of .38/.357 speed strip carriers (Del Fatti SSC).

It's a shame to keep most of this holster hidden inside my pants next to my 50-shades-of-gray briefs.

Yeah, I'm just a short barrel kind of guy.  We all can't be Dirty Harry ... or Anthony Wiener.

I'll need a new suit to go with this holster ...

Quality OWB holsters for short barrel handguns may often require no more concealment than that provided by normal attire during fall, winter, and spring.  I have a couple of shooting vests that will serve during range sessions.  I'll see if my "dumpy fat old man" Hawaiian shirts will work during summer, otherwise then it's time for IWB ...

First Shooting Range Session of 2017

Nigh exactly 5-months ago (7/31/2016) was the last time I did a range session with my gen-4 Glock 19.  Yep, it has been a bit of a long while since I last practiced with this pistol, but overall I was happy with my performance on this first range session of the brand new year.  I discovered decades ago that I'm not anywhere near world class with any firearm even on my very best of days.  More important than how I did with the pistol during this session is the fact that I HAD FUN!  Yeah baby, this was all for ME!  Truth be told, I was actually the second best shooter at the entire range while I was there ... but then the only other shooter left ...

Anyhow, the yellow duct tape on the silhouette gives my funky old eyes something easy to target.  Ball ammo usually pokes a nice round hole through the duct tape and that makes it easy for me to see at a distance where my shots are landing; the smaller, raggedy hole that ball ammo punches through paper is very hard for me to see and doesn't provide the "instant feedback" that I desire.

Except where noted otherwise, all ammo used was Federal RTP9115 115gr FMJ target ammo.

On the target above:
Head = 15-rounds @ 15-feet
High chest = 15-rounds @ 21-feet
Center mass = 15-rounds @ 30-feet (Federal 9BPLE +P+ 115gr JHP carry ammo)

On the target below:
Same as on the target above, except 16-rounds were fired at each distance (a round in the chamber plus a full magazine)

The entire session lasted under an hour.  A total of 93-rounds were fired.
