Started out as a sinus infection on the 15th then it suddenly grabbed me by the throat.

The throat thing lasted around 4-days before it cleared up.  The sinus infection is pretty much gone but there is some sort of lingering hay-fever hangover.  The grass-pollen is the only irritant according to the weather service.  I've been wearing masks when working outside and that seems to help; I toss them after every use since I don't want to be re-snorting my own sinus bacteria.  The 100F day that we recently had was quite a challenge.  I don't shed heat like I did in my younger days.

Wife caught the same symptoms 4-days after mine began.  She seems to be healing a bit slower than I did but (so far) I haven't had to truck her off to the ER.  She had to cancel a dental appointment for today.

We went the 2-years of Covid restrictions with nary a sniffle between us and now we are getting our butts kicked.  My daughter (~20-miles NW of here, in Wisconsin) says she has the same symptoms and that 20-people where she works called in sick yesterday.  Maybe something is in the air other than pollen.  We have been frequenting many crowded stores and restaurants lately and our luck may have expired.

  1. Same thing for me, only I think less severe than you and the Mrs. For me, I have to chalk it up to allergies. Chowed down lots of Emergen-C vitamin C packets and lots of Powerade or Gatorade. Felt better in a couple of days. Same hot weather here too and I find myself not drinking enough H20 until I realize I'm REALLY THIRSTY. Take Care!
