(I believe this old file photo to be of a notable pro-open-carry elected official)
(I don't remember her name or title but that *ahem* holster was memorable)
Anyhoo, nothing the gubmint does surprises me.
Tax dollars gotta be wasted for something or another.
Regulators feel obligated to regulate.
I can't find a public record of it, but I recall a long serving Chicago Mayor from many years ago once blathering that holster sales in Illinois should be prohibited since it was illegal for folks in Illinois to carry handguns (at that point in time).
A closing thought: If you were going to order a holster to give Great Grandpa to use with his old 1911 Colt you might want to just give him a gift card or you may wind up on THE FEDS list of gun owners.
Another closing thought: How many holsters in the USA are sold OTC at retailers via cash and carry? No ID required, no credit card record. What's next? A holster registry?
