The fatal hug did not involve a shoulder holster

This is a follow-up to my preceding post.  I would not have been alone guessing that a horizontal shoulder holster rig (muzzle pointed to the rear) was involved.

Some details on the pistol (.40 caliber Smith & Wesson Military and Police) along with some comments on the “waist holster” can be found HERE (does not say whether it was an inside-the-waistband or outside-the-waistband design.  It does say that it was made of a “soft, neoprene-type material”).  The investigation still has not put together exactly how this all happened.

  1. I just can't picture it, I know I'm by no means an expert at this, but I just can't picture it....how does a gun go from "pointed down" while riding in the holster (even if its at an angle down) to pointed almost directly UP by someone giving a hug??
