If I remember correctly, Charles 'Skeeter' Skelton, a gun writer from the 1960's - 1980's, claimed he owned a Remington deringer in this same round as a backup. He claimed the small size could even allow him to carry it inside the prison when he had to duty to do so, and did not recommend the practice. He claimed to test it, he shot a telephone pole (I don't recall if he gave a distance) and that the bullet base still protruded from the pole.

ReplyDeleteThe derringer that Dillinger carried is probably the most famous. It went for HUGE dollars at auction.
