My first shooting range session for this year was April 23 (yeah, I'm off to a VERY slow / late start again this year)

I really like this old S&W 66-3 .357 Magnum.

The grips are oversized and fit my shooting hand perfectly.

It's a fun handgun.  A great shooter.

I spent an hour at the range and blasted two targets; the first was @ 30-feet and the second was @ 57-feet (the target-trolly decided that was as far as it would go)

I've got a huge overstock of .38 Special of all sorts and brands; standard pressure loads, +P loads, +P+ loads, round nose, lead, jacketed, hollow-point, hydra-shok, etc. etc. etc.  

It's time for me to lower the inventory; I'm definitely not getting any younger; there is no need for me to remain prepared for Armageddon.

Time to freshen the handgun sights

About 5-years ago I went to a blaze-red on the factory-black and the stainless steel front sights on most of my handguns.  I really liked it back then but over the years the paint dulled and it slowed down my sight acquisition during my routine drills.  

Sooooooo recently I decided to spend a couple of days cleaning the old red paint from the sights on all of the aforementioned handguns and go with a bright green.  The photo above shows the first coat.  This color is fine for now but I'm guessing that it also will dull over time.

I'M IN AND OUT OF CHICAGO REGULARY SO I DON'T HAVE LASER SIGHTS ON ANY OF MY HANDGUNS; THEY ARE BANNED IN CHICAGO AND POSSIBLY OTHER MUNICIPAL JURISDICTIONS.

The best soft drink I ever had

Dunno why they quit making it.  Oprah did a thing about fave soft drinks back during her heyday and Kayo was resurrected for a very short time.  It's only available as a powder nowadays; too much trouble for me to give it a try.

It seemed (to me) that Pepsi and Coke started losing flavor decades ago so I lost my lust for all soft drinks.  I was unaware that those major producers were transitioning from cane sugar to the much cheaper high-fructose corn syrup crap.

Winter storm warning for our area

 

READY!

Bought this two-stage blower new in 2019 and I have no regrets.  It has moved TONS of heavy slush for me.  It is far above the abilities of the single-stage blowers I bought and wore out during the prior couple of decades. 

This will be snow-season #6 (which, so far, has been unusually mild) to challenge this machine. I did a running checklist on it and everything seems fit and ready for what Mother Nature is sending this way. All the same, I hope this storm blows by us.
