Underused Thomson, Illinois prison to Gitmo prisoners

A prison designed to hold the run-of-the-mill Illinois criminal (no, we are not talking about our politicians this time) will be tasked by our federal government to hold many ruthless, well trained, well practiced, world-class, wholesale murderers. While trying to keep those zealots on the inside, the prison must also keep well-trained zealots who may be lurking on the outside from trying to spring their buddies. Let’s hope the facility is more formidable than it looks to be in the photo, and that the federal prison-staff members are to be no-nonsense, Marine Corps sandbox veterans.

  1. Greetings from Texas,
All I can say is "Lucky you, Zack." We have a prison a few miles from HomePlace. Oddly enough the inmates feel safer inside rather than out with the neighbors.

  2. LOL

Yeah Art, that's probably why they put it here instead of there; the Feds figured that they could not prevent the Texans from breaking into a prison to get a piece of the Gitmo gang... (probably why they did not choose Tennessee either)

  3. Thomson is WAY out dere in BFE. The hajis might wish they were back at Gitmo after a while. Those river people are strange sometimes.

  4. Hey Crusty,

    Good points.

With all the crime in this state, it sure is hard to imagine that Illinois had an empty prison...

  5. They're fuller than they would have been if George wasn't a chump and commuted all those death sentences.

Maybe he knew what was in store for him and wanted to score points before he became someone's biotch.

I happen to know one from high school that would have been dispatched years ago but for ol' Georgie.

  6. Maybe we should petition to have some of these prisons renamed to honor our felonious Governors.

"Gitmo prisoners to be housed at the Blagojevich prison in Thomson, Illinois"

Yeah, I like the sound of that.

  7. Greetings from Texas,
I heard an interesting commentary last night, I think from Hannity. He was saying the 'gitmo gang' was being taken from the tropics in Cuba to The Great Frozen North (paraphrasing) of Illinois. He seemed to think the winter weather was pretty sever punishment. It would be for me. I only go north in the summer time, and then I take a coat.

  8. Aaah, with global warming due soon, they won't notice the difference ;)
