Dear Diet Diary: No, it wasn't the Thanksgiving stuffing; I actually maintained discipline all month EXCEPT when it came to the contents of the pictured jars; I am a peanut butter junkie. Going back 40-years in time when I was doing some enviable bench presses (for a 160-pound dude) I used peanut butter and milk for muscle-building protein. At the age I am now and the weight I am now I only bench when I am in the rare mood and my maximum lifts are barely above the level of rank amateur for pathetic old men. A full month of peanut butter and milk before bedtime packed on the weight and not an ounce of it was muscle. Much of my overall weight loss thus far came from removing peanut butter (along with a host of other things) from my diet. Lessee if I can get back down to 175-lbs before New Year's Eve; peanut butter (a wonderful comfort food for the dreariness of fall and winter) is back off of the list.
