THIS, unfortunately, is the reaction that many (if not most) people (even some of the most lawful and passive) have to the government curfew declarations.
This is the view of authority from the government side. "Boogity boogity! Now, y'all be appropriately afraid!"
Yep, many citizens, law-abiding and otherwise, view a curfew declaration as nothing more than the government admitting that it is as impotent as the gingerbread-man and that it has no ideas on how to handle a dire situation. The municipalities that respectfully avoid making idle threats seem to be better at maintaining law and order.
The full moon is Friday and a three-day-weekend resurrection of our recent local midnight madness would not surprise me. Hope and pray for the best, prepare for the worst.

MAYORAL DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY AND CURFEW
Sam Cunningham Waukegan Mayor has declared that a curfew is hereby imposed on all persons of all ages, excepting those engaged in lawful gainful employment, from 8pm to 6am on all days of the week during the entire time that this state of emergency is in effect, starting today, June 1st. The curfew prohibits any and all affected persons from being present at or upon any public building, place, street or highway during the above-described curfew hours.

DECLARACIÓN DE EMERGENCIA Y CURFEW
El alcalde Sam Cunningham ha declarado que se impone un toque de queda a todas las personas de todas las edades, excepto a las que tienen un empleo remunerado legal, a partir de las 8pm a las 6am todos los días de la semana durante el tiempo que este estado de emergencia esté vigente, a partir de hoy, 1 de junio. El toque de queda prohíbe que todas las personas afectadas estén presentes en cualquier edificio público, lugar, calle o carretera durante las horas de toque de queda descritas encima.
