Crime news for Waukegan is hard to find. Since the city went to the encrypted Motorola communication system, those of us who monitored the police frequencies have been left in the dark. The Lake / McHenry counties website (at the link above) does manage to pick up some of the information that our politicians would (seemingly) prefer to remain hidden. For the most part, we are left to believe or disbelieve the ebb and flow of local rumors which obviously may overstate or understate the local problem(s); such is the way of life here in the Badlands of Lake County.
IMHO, politicians are elected to fix problems, not hide or ignore them; your opinion may be different.
I don't give advice. If I did, it would be to keep your doors and windows double-locked and blocked, be ever vigilant, be prepared to do whatever it takes to protect your loved ones and yourself, and to keep the telephone number of a good defense attorney on speed dial. Oh, and don't forget to VOTE.
