Green alternative to cremation

One third of all Americans are cremated after they die. According to the attached Reuter’s article on an alternative method, a standard cremation generates a whopping 880 pounds of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide and uses enough energy to drive a car 500 miles. Perhaps the major players in Copenhagen will work something out so we can sell our carbon units into the cap-and-trade pool when opting for the alternative cremation method.
